Often we hear of spyware scans and removers. Are spyware immunization programs any good? I was looking at Spyware Blaster and how you can get free updates if you remember to do it manually or you can get automatic updates for $10 a year. Is a program like Spyware Blaster effective, since I don't want to waste money if it's not? Are there other good immunization programs?
Thanks
Yes, Spyware Blaster is very effective...

And yes, other immunization programs are good too, as long as you only run one type or each in resident mode... For example, it is not a good idea to run TeaTimer from Spybot at the same time that you run Ad-Watch from Ad-Aware... Actually, I would stay away from Ad-Aware completely these days, but Spybot and Teatimer are still very good... and available for free...

Not again!??!
They seem to 'blow up' every two years or so...

It looks like they may not be coming back from this one... I haven't heard anything recently, but apparently they had a lot of people leave again...

You can use SpywareBlaster and Spybot "immunizations" at the same time with no conflicts.
Javacool (Spywareblaster's author) makes certain the two programs compliment each other.

Absolutely... They do completely different things... You can also run IE-Spyads and a couple of other options... Just not 2 that do the same thing at the same time...

I just posted that to make certain the OP understood they are different yet complimentary.
They are like coffee and donuts...Cheetos and Mt. Dew...AdBlock and NoScript...Bud and Lou.

Yep, I was just reinforcing and clarifying... It was a good point... :)
