Windows Media Player 11
Windows o/s XP Home

When I try to play a dvd (on my pc Compaq Pressario model s5500 uk) I get the message.....

" Windows media player cannot play this dvd because it is not possible to turn on anolog copy protection on the outlook display. Try installing an up to date driver for your video card."

My graphics card is a radeon 9200....

I've checked for the latest drivers and have reinstalled WMP 11

Have automatic updates turned ON

If I select another programme (ie...Power dvd) to play the dvd then the dvd will play.

Can anyone please offer any assistance in helping me to get WMP to play my dvds.

It can't be done...you are using WMP 11 and its wonderful 'added' features...DRM/copy protection!!!!!

Hollywood decided that the hardware you currently have makes it to easy for you to become the equivalent of a VCR, so it forced MS to include (who didn't put up to much fuss about it) all sorts of new and 'better' copy protection schemes...

Best advice...used something else, like PowerDVD.
