After a nightmare install 6 months ago my Vista HP is a no boot this am.
The startup repair function didn't help and no system restore would work and I tried every option with the command line Bootrec on the vista disc.
Finally I was presented with the option of "Last known good configuration" and tried it and I am closer. It boots to where you should get your log in screen but it says that "The system cannot find the file specified".
Is there anything more I can do before resorting to a complete reformat??
Help!
