Can someone find out my IP address or any information about me if I sent them my email address? It's a free email address like Hotmail..

Yep, it can be done. I report spammers to their ISPs fairly often using my yahoo account. According to the replies I've gotten I've had at least a dozen email accounts shut down too.
In the interest of security, and peace of mind, I won't go into details here, I'd rather not give potential miscreants a how-to...
Suffice it to say if you send an email to my yahoo account, or a local ISP, I can send you back your IP address at the time it was sent. The upside is most ISPs assign you a different IP every time you log on, so tomorrow your IP should not be the same as it is today, which I think is a very good thing.

oh yea, there are reverse email directories and they can track you down thru "spam cop" sites which will pinpoint your location and other nifty little things people can do with "just your email address"
