My pc with windows Me is showing this message when loadin

I performed a search on the web and found that it is related to some dialer but besides the message appearing any time I boot I have experienced no additional problem.Is there a way to get rid of this message?. Thank you

It means your computer is infected... We will need to see a HJT log and SmitfraudFix log to see what is going on...

To run HJT, extract it to a permanent folder such as one you create like C:\HJT or the Desktop. Close all open windows and
browsers and make sure that all programs are enabled if you use msconfig. Run it and Scan, then Save the log.
When the log window appears, Right click to Copy it, open your browser and come here to Paste the entire log. Do
not make any changes until it is checked since most items are either benign or essential to the computer. Make sure that WordWrap is turned off in Notepad
and use as many posts as needed to paste it all here...

Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Was not able to do the smitfraud part because when I unzipped it the smitfraudfix.cmd IS NOT an executable file it appears with the icon that looks like a page that is being turned and with the 3 small pictures on it (red ,blue and green) and the pc ask me with what program I want to open it and the file is classified as a CMD FILE. I did some reading an I think that Smitfraud os for 2000 and XP only?..........I am running winME

We are a bit stuck with not being able to use SmitfraudFix... Try a couple of other tools... There are fewer tools available anymore that will work on WinME... First do a HJT fix, but I don't think it will be enough:

Open a HJT scan and put a check by:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WINFOY32] rundll32 WINFOY32.DLL,run

Close all open windows except HJT and press Fix checked...

Reboot and run:

* Download Dr.Web CureIt to the Desktop:
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list
Save the report to your desktop. The report will be called DrWeb.csv
Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.

I am trying to see if eliminating any "underground" issues I can procede to upgrade from INTERNET EXPLORER 5.5 TO 6 because every tima I have tried I get the message "you seem to have the correct files but the upgrade was not complete try it again". After doing a reinstall of winme tthe problem persist.I thought maybe the malaware was causing the problem.
On the postive side I AM NOT getting the small screen saying that the DLL was not found. Thank you Budfred!!!! and happy new year to you and your loved ones

It looks like you have several unfinished updates and that may be blocking the IE6 update... Try fixing these with HJT:

O4 - .DEFAULT Startup: Resume Windows Update Installation.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\Windows Update Setup Files\ie6setup.exe (User 'Default user')
O4 - Startup: Resume Windows Update Installation.lnk = C:\WINDOWS\Windows Update Setup Files\ie6setup.exe

Then reboot and try to install the other updates... Find and double click to launch:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KB918547\KB918547.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KB891711\KB891711.EXE

If successful, try the IE 6 update again... Oh, and your log looks okay...

Thank you for your help . I got rid of the pesky windows at the beggining of each boot. But it seems that this was not the caused of my problem when trying to upgarede IE from 5.5 to 6.0 , I still get the message that not all component are installed. This being a matter totally different to the purpose of the area I will consider this matter settled. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!
