Go here: Windows 2000 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/default.asp)
Plenty of white papers that explain the pros of Windows 2000.

Why? Speaking from personal experience... Don't do it until you must. I had numerous hardware and software issuses that still aren't all sorted out. Yeah, hardware vendors may have drivers for W2K, but it will be another 2 years until all the bugs are worked out. They've had 5 years to work out the bugs with NT. Same with software vendors, it may run on W2K, but it will take a year or two of users complaining until it all gets straightened out. I'd rather not be part of that group of beta testers.
Don't get me wrong, within 2 years the NT to W2K migration will happen. In fact, a number of things do work better, I just can't think of any off the top of my head http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/tongue.gif
