i have maya 8.5 how would i go about making something like this

dont laugh :D i no its very complex but is there any chance of being able to self teach yourself to make images like this?

does anyone on here any experience with maya as well?

MODS: i put this in programing because there is no other better fitting forum ;)

Edit: come to think of it Application and Utility Software may of been better

3ds max is the best program to use (and the easiest) but there are some tutorials here:

Gotta say that the maya interface has so far put me off.

At the moment I am looking at going back to Blender. Being a free program, a lot of really useful documentation out there for it is equally free. The interface is probably more complicated at first glance than maya, but once you learn to anvigate around it and learn shortcut keys it can be quite quick to do stuff in. (And now that I know about things like Subsurface modelling I may even be able to turn out something interesting.
