View Full Version : You People Are Idiots

I can't beleive some of the questions asked here? Are some of you complete morons? I run a hardware company that specializes in custom built PC's and I stay on top of the Tech World each day by surfing many recognized review sites for info. I spend many hours just studing and understanding the tech myself. Our company just set up their own fabrication and we hope to manufacture some chips for the major RAM producers and and in the video card market. Our chip may be used in the NV25 to specialize in FSAA while only loosing 5% performance. If you have any questions please ask me because I feel I am fit to answer all. I am sorry to say what I did, but I can't beleive some of the common sense people have.

I might be a complete moron, but let's count the misspelled words and other mistakes in your post:
1) beleive
2) PC's (grammar, what does the PC own?)
3) studing (isn't this what they do with horses)
4) and and (you stutter when you type?)
5) loosing (help, I loosed my pants)
6) beleive (again, at the end of the post, so it wasn't just a mistype)
Everyone has different areas of expertise, yours is obviously not writing.
OK, I'll bite.
If you are calling the people who post here idiots, the purpose of this site is to help people who have problems with their computers, many of whom have no idea about how a computer actually works. If you are calling those of us who try to help those people idots, then you should understand that we are here on a voluntary basis trying our best to answer a multitude of questions, some common, easily answered and some puzzling. If you are trying to make a plug for your company or yourself, starting by insulting so many with one post is not the way to make customers or friends. I don't care if you are Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or J. P. Eckert, if you are good put your money were your mouth is and answer questions without insulting everyone.

I hate to post again, brevity being the soul of wit and all, but this guy is just so full of ****, I can't resist...
What company do you work for big guy? I'm sure even us morons have heard of it, considering a chip fab costs about a billion dollars. Where is this fab? And you run this company??? A hardware company that also makes chips, and apparently RAM...
So what do you make, RAM or processors, and what is the other hardware you produce? Run by someone as eloquent as yourself, your company must be bigger than Microsoft; I will immediately run out and buy as many of your products as I can afford, better yet, I'll sell my house and live in a refrigerator box surrounded by your computer products...
And that must be some pretty awesome RAM if it does full screen anti-aliasing, or is that your cutting-edge graphics chip that does the FSAA? I'm also curious about when the owners/managers (or whatever it is you do with this supposed company) of major hardware manufacturers started staying on top of the tech world by browsing review sites...
Are you honestly trying to say that as the leader of this amazing enterprise, you apprise yourself of trends in the tech world by reading ZDnet???
Before you start regaling us with the details of your delusions of grandeur, please, do some homework so you can at least sound like you know what you're talking about.

http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif WELL!!! You've certainly gotten off on the right foot, haven't you? I'm sure we'll all want to welcome you with open arms. And only four words misspelled in your first post! I "beleive" you must be "loosing" something because of all that "studing" you've been doing. I'm not too confident about the "fit to answer all" part, but if your post were written on tissue paper, I know what it would be fit for.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the originator of this post is either a somewhat troubled teen making up lies in an attempt to elevate his stature here -OR- he's just looking for attention -OR- he just wants to see how many replies he can get to his post...
Overall, this is a pretty well-behaved message board, much more civil than alot of others I've seen, but this is a common tactic: pissing people off just for the sake of it...
[This message has been edited by hiredgoonz (edited 03-10-2001).]
This guy is a complete wanker,
what a nerve he has to publish something like that. I mean we are all beginners at some stage and yes we all have to learn at some stage now don't we and I don't care how dumb the questions are, at least they had the guts and effort to place it there in the first place - - right???
Anyway this is my opinion....can't wait to see Paleo Pete's reaction!!!

yes, where is Pete ??
I look forward to his common sense reply on this(he is quite lucky he didn't come and post that on my board) ..lol
You guys were very nice to him.. hehe one of the things I like about this forum.. a little self control is excercised here .. (and I can't spell believe either.. ) hehe http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Sure is a nice way to wake up... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif
Hmmm...I believe any effort to recognize common sense implies that you have some yourself, and I think we know how that stands..
After an entrance like that one I can't wait for the exit. Don't bother to come here to answer questions, I don't want someone with your attitude having any interaction with this forum at all, except to wave bye bye.
I do not tolerate people insulting anyone on this forum, whether they be the home users asking questions or the good people who try to answer them. If that's your way of relating to people, go do it on Yahoo chat, you'll fit right in.
As stated above, the main reason many of these people post questions here is they don't know how to deal with computers. We have a teriffic group of people who do their best to help, and they do a very good job, spelling errors and all...Neither of these groups of people deserve your insulting and abusive attitude, and it will not be tolerated. Go check the Acceptible Use Policy you agreed to when you registered your user name. It states:
You agree, through your use of the Forums, that you will not use the Forums to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate any laws. You further agree not to impersonate any person or entity, forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any posting, or collect or store personal data about other users.
Your post blatantly violates almost everything I placed in bold text. And please tell me what specific brand hardware you manufacture, so I can make sure and stay on the other side of the store. I certainly do not want to support a company whose so-called leader is such a hateful, insulting, abrasive and generally ill mannered jerk.
Thanks to all for dealing with this matter in such a mature manner, and without any vulgarity at all, I'm impressed. Many other forums would have been swearing non stop...
I think I'll go get that 2nd cup of coffee now...thanks for getting my day off to such a crummy start WOLFGANG...Don't ever come here insulting people again.
And learn to spell!!

Well, considering the audacity of the post, the responses were pretty reasonable. I congratulate you all on your self-control. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
In general, any open forum will get this sort of post from time to time. What we on Usenet call a "troll", like the fishing term: setting down bait and seeing how many fish you catch. It's done for attention, as someone suggested, and therefore--the best way to respond to it is not to respond at all.
I will leave this thread open for a bit, and Pete and I will take action if this sort of thing persists.

One more thing: the people on this forum are the BEST. It doesn't matter how much you know, it matters how much you are willing to learn. These forums are designed to suit the needs of anyone, from beginner to expert, and we *all* can learn from each other. There's more to being a member of a community than simply "knowing stuff", it's about interaction and co-operation.

I am sorry for thecorruption that I have caused. It was a blatent attack which I am sorry for. As for the company I run, it is called Southland Micro. We specialize in RAM and many other devices. If anyone here needs to know anything about computers, please feel free to ask because I feel that I will know it.

Oh, this is too good to be true, he returns...
According to a few minutes of my research, Southland makes RAM, that's it...
Now, I have a question for you, oh knowledgeable one, how does RAM makes FSAA work? I always thought it had to do with rendering extra frames and blending them, but perhaps you could explain where I falter in my understanding.
Also, I've been wondering how 3DFX's FSAA differs from NVidia's...and is NVidia tellng the truth when they say that their FSAA is hardware based as opposed to software?
And if you're not too busy running your company, could you explain how the HRAA implemented in the GeForce 3 works? Thanks.
Well, Wolfgang, your intro was certainly uncalled for, but as you can see, we didn't lock you out of the forums. If you are interested in participating in a civil manner, we would welcome your contributions to the group.
Everyone, he has apologized, so let's give him a chance to become a positive contributor.

You know, the more I read through this thread, the more pe'od I get. I think all of us on this forum are too hard working, too friendly, too damn tired most of the time (but yet we are still here trying to help), too mindful of wanting to give the correct advice, too willing to help, shall I go on?, to take this kind of crap from this guy.
I just have to say it. OHHHHH PLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE MR. WOLFGANG, SIR, can I come to work for you?????????
I truly feel sorry for your employees, if in fact, you really DO have employees.
Oh, and you didn't cause any corruption here. It will take a bigger person than you to deteriorate our moral fiber; nor have we been harmed by your so-called "error".

Dear wolfie
Get a grip, if this is the way you treat your customers or colleagues you shall be out of bussiness very soon. As for asking you any thing I would trust my dog first. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
J.P. Eckert is the inventor of ENIAC -- the computer that basically started all of this (big as a house and quite limited in what it could do).

Well everyone it looks like we all have taken his bait. I know that we all want to say something to Mr Wolfgang ( I know that I do) so here is my 2 cents.
I have been on this forum for several months I might not know everything about computers. But the PEOPLE on this forum are GREAT no matter what you say Mr Wolfgang!!!!! They have helped me on several of my Posts here, so I would also say put up or shut up. If you are so smart, answer someones question in this forum. If you can. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif We don't need anyone putting the members of this forum down.

Hmmmm....I was wondering when someone like Mr. WolfGang316 would show up.
I find it interesting that people like him always use the line "you people are..." for a topic. Judging from his grammer I would guess that he proably "cut and pasted" the topic line in. Then proceded to use his limited grammer skills to post his resume.
I have a question for you Mr Wolf. How do people get as screwed up as you?
Perhaps you should spend sometime away from your Playstation and interact with some of the poeple here. I for one would love to see some of that extensive computer knowledge you have put to good use.

Well, he still hasn't answered my questions about anti-aliasing http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
At this point I hope that no one actually believes he runs a company...
And, I shouldn't have to point this out, but his first post does not jive with his saying that he runs Southland Micro...they make RAM, they are not:
"a hardware company that specializes in custom built PC's"
and anti-aliasing is accomplished by rendering and blending extra frames in a 3d environment...
Also, he says he hopes to make chips for the major RAM producers...Southland IS a major RAM producer...this guy is a liar...nuff said...

'Nuff said about covers it. Time to drop this one and move on, an apology has been offered, he hasn't shown up again, and some of us are still making sarcastic remarks. Pretty much exactly what a person who stirs up incidents like this wants to see.
Please move on to bigger and better things and ignore this one.

I'm not even going to comment on the issue of expertise. What really puzzles me is the exact chain of thoughts which goes through the mind of someone when they decide to insult a group of total strangers who have done nothing whatever to offend them. The safe anonymity of e-mail just seems to bring this out in some of the more insecure examples of our species. Such behavior speaks volumes more about the psyche of the mud-slinger than it does about those spattered.
Find a nice therapy group, friend.
