Howdy all,
Trying to find a couple of things on PS CS3.
Looking for "Pencil Tool" and trying to find out how to display the RGB values for a specific color.

I'm using PS to make cross stitch patterns of my two African Greys so I can do needle work pictures of them both. I've got the making the chart part down pretty well but in order to get the exact colors of thread needed I have to be able to get the RGB values of each of the colors. These can then be matched to a conversion chart that will give the thread color numbers I need to get.
I've looked around in the program and looked at the help files but can't seem to find these two things. Most likely they are both under my nose but I just can't seem to find them.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks much
LG;)

I use PaintShop Pro, and I'm not sitting in front of it now (still at work), but...

I believe that if you use the dropper or fill tool, and instead of selecting from the color palette, you use the option to select from a color on the cavas, when you hover over the color in question you should be able to see the RGB values.

Again, not one hundred percent sure and not very good instructions, but a good hunch that might point you in the right direction...

The pencil tool is within the same box as the brush tool. Just click and hold for a second, then you'll see the additional tools in a menu.

You can toggle between the two. All the tool boxes that have a tiny triangle in the corner have additional tools hidden.

To find the RGB values, you may need to turn the mode of the image to RGB if it is in CMYK. Go to Image at the top, then Mode, then RGB.

(The quickest and cleanest way to make an image black and white btw is to do this and pick Grayscale, as it also reduces the file size nicely).
