Hi,
I've been facing this problem for sometime now. I have a Dell notebook from work. My home computer is connected to the internet in this way,
Internet --> Netgear DG632 ADSL2+ modem --> D-Link DI-634M wireless router --> Home PC.
Now i want to share some files between my home PC and my office notebook. I have Norton Internet Security 2007 on my home PC. I've added my office notebook IP (i've configured my router DHCP to reserve a particular IP for my home pc and my notebook so that everytime they get the same IP respectively) to the trusted list of machines to be allowed access. I've also configured the rules in NIS 2007 such that windows file sharing is enabled. I've also disabled the windows firewall on both the machines. I've also enabled my router firewall to allow traffic between these IP's.
But i still cant seem to be sharing files. I can ping my home PC from my laptop but i cant seem to access the shared folders there...
can someone clue me into why i cant seem to be doing this?
