Could you install OS X Leopard on an x86 PC? I was wondering if this was possible.

Yes.
You need a pre-boot loader to emulate a Mac signature and proper x86 hardware. Still experimental and not fully supported, of course, but the separate pieces of software get around the licensing (it's meant for Apple hardware after all).

To install Mac OS X on the emulator, you need a hard disk image. You can download preformatted hard disk images from pearpc.net/downloads.php. Two disk sizes are available: 3GB and 6GB.
I'm curious. Are these hard disk images licensed versions of the OS and supporting software? I mean, this info is being put out by O'Reilly after all. You should be able to trust them but that seems fishy to me. That and pasting the non-functional link to the disk image DL page produces a 404 error. The home page is a forum site with no Downloads page showing.
What do you know about this jamer?

Besides all that, bassman, jamer's link is for installing older Mac OS's on x86 hardware and working around the fact that the OS was made for a PowerPC platform (see the date of the article).
The OP was asking about installing the newest Mac OS, which was built for x86 hardware.
