Hello all,

I have a dell inspirion 6000. i'm having an issue where my radio will spontaneously disable. I'll be on the internet, all surfin' away and whatnot, and then all of a sudden there's a big X through the little green bar guys and it says my radio is disabled. if i try to enable the radio, i get a message that pops up that says something to the effect of "The Dell Wireless
WLAN Card is still disabled - press Fn-F2 to enable it." and pressing fn F2 does nothing. well, a little tower picture appears at the bottom of the screen briefly, and will have an X through it or not, depending on how many times i press fn F2. anyways, it seems like the only way to remedy the situation is to restart my computer. also, when i try to shut down after this has occured, my computer won't shut down and i have to manually hold the button till it turns off again. i can't figure out why it decides to disable itself. i've read some similar posts about this issue, but they seem to be when the wireless is not working at all - my wireless works, it just kaks out whenever it feels like it. any insight into this matter would be much appreciated :D

Check the power settings, there may be a setting that disables the wireless NIC when on battery.
