I have a small computer network containing 2 wired computers into a linksys router. Ever since adding computer #2 to the router it receives most of the bandwidth (up and down) leaving my computer (#1) with pretty much trickles even when computer #2 is doing nothing or minumally accessing the Internet.

Speed tests are crap on mine (#1) and fine on the other (#2)

When uploading to RS computer #1 gets 15K/s and computer #2 gets 30K/s if both are uploading. Computer #1 gets 15K/s to 30K/s if uploading alone. Computer #2 gets the full 45K/s if uploading alone. This is also the case in general while accessing the Internet. Computer #1 is slow as sludge and computer #2 has good access speeds.

I've tried bandwidth tweakers on #1
with no noticable improvements.

Comp #1 is running Windows Media Center and has the cable modem attached to it.

Comp #2 has Windows XP Pro and is ethered in via the router.

I've racked my brain and the web and have yet to find any (if possible) working solutions. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if I need to supply a bit more info.

I really need help with this guys, thanks!

Comp #1 is running Windows Media Center and has the cable modem attached to it.

The cable modem should be attached to the WAN port on the router, then both computers attached to a regular port (1,2,3,4) on the router.

If you actually have the modem attached to a computer you need to change it to the above.

Cable modem > router > computers
