Hello everyone,

I am new on your forum.

I want to connect to the battle.net (to play Warcraft 3 TFT) from my workplace. The thing is that there are some blocked ports (6112 - 6119) and I can't access the battle.net and I can't stop the firewall restrictions.

Can someone please tell me what can I do to be able to connect to the battle.net server, or 1 gateway. I red some stuff on the internet and I saw some reffering to socks servers hosting. Well, there were some instructions for the Mac usr community, but none for PC people.
So can you help me? What can I do to get pass those ports and be able to play, the internet connection here is really awesome, it would be a pity not to be able to use it.

PS: some of you could look surprised that I said that I want to play at my workplace, but my job doesn't require me non-stop.

It does not matter if your job requires you all of the time. Your employer has designed a system to prevent this type of activity. Even you are not essential all of the time, the bandwidth is being used for normal business activities and should not be hogged by playing games.

If you want to get on, you should ask your IT department. If you won't or they won't help you, we will not aid you in your quest.....

No, you don't understand. If my employer and the IT department comes into my office and see me playin' Warcraft they will not say anything. They know very well my job description. The thing is that the guys from the IT department can't open those ports for me because of security, its not because of traffic or whatever other reason.

Is there anyway to tunnel this connection out?

NO, if the IT guys won't do it. You want to bypass their security and go on line exposing your system to god knows what and then when it all comes tumbling down they will change your name to unemployed.

Ok dude. I see this is 2 much for you. I found some stuff for the Mac, it seems for them that this stuff is not so DANGEROUS. 2 bad I don't have a Mac.

There are reasons IT departments have such rules.

As to what we will and will not provide information about, we will NOT provide information on how to bypass those rules. It is not a matter of it being '2 much' for anyone...it is against our long standing forum policy to do such.

Grow up a little...when you are working for someone, using someone else's resources, they get to set the rules for that use. Just because you want to do something other than what you are being paid to do, doesn't give you the right to flout their rules/policies and expect to get help doing so...and then whine about it when people who were probably working in this field long before you were even born tell you no.
