Well gang, the time has come. My wife and I have started a new business making and selling dog treats on line. I am looking for some volunteers to sample our wares and provide feedback on both the product and site. I would also like your help in promoting the site by telling your friends and family.
I have spoken with IXL (owner of this site) and asked his permission to do this here. I promised I would not post a link to the site here to avoid the whole "Spam" thing.
So here is how it will work:
You may contact me either PM or my e-mail. Give me a valid mailing address along with any other customer info you feel comfortable with (this helps me to set up my customer DB). I will send you, no charge, a sample pack of cookies along with site and contact info. All I ask is you provide me with any feedback you like and let your friends and family know about us.
If you are not interested in the product but would still like to give feedback on the site or idea, please contact me and I will send you the link.

Thank you Charles and all my many friends here ;)

LOL,:D ahhh, I should have known you would be the one who said that. Yes they are soft, baked cookies. Gentle on the teeth and stomach.

Given that you are a long time trusted member of PC Guide and you are not selling technology, I can't see that it would be a problem for you to post a link, did ixl ask you not to??

I think a balance of crunchy and soft is ideal... :D

I think a balance of crunchy and soft is ideal... :DYeah, I didn't see any with nuts...good protein source! :) Not for human consumption...Huh?

I also agree with Budfred. This isn't a drive by spamming we're talking about here and I don't see a conflict of interest with the Guide's advertisers. I would suggest rethinking the link idea and ask IXL if it would be all right... ;)

I suspect you were a bit overzealous with caution! :D

;) Thanks guys. Actually IXL said it would be fine. It was my idea not to post a link. At the time I was thinking the site would still be under construction so I did not want to link to a "not fully functional store" until I got some feedback and made fixes. At this moment the only non-functioning part is the paypal account is not yet confirmed/verified and the "Continue Shopping" button on the cart page does not return when in tabs. Waiting for a fix from paypal on the second and the first should be done today or tomorrow.

FTT, they go best with a bowl of water;) :D

No dogs, just Birds here, but if you will send me the link I'll put it on my personal site, not that it gets many visitors but it can't hurt!:)
LG;)

Anything that can help stop contaminated wheat gluten from going into the food chain is a positive step.
Great idea Frank!
Any chance you could get smaller pet store chains like Pet Club to take on your product?

have you considered contacting Catherine Forsythe at dog reader? http://www.dogreader.com. She has been quite "exercized" about the contaminated dog food.

PrntRhd, We are considering that but shelf life, volume of supply/ volume of returns, and some other factors involved with retail may be prohibitive to us at this time. We actually have a friend from Scouts that just opened his third store and may talk to him soon.

David, Thanks. I will pass this link on to my wife. We are looking for any resource we can at this point to get the word out. Contacting someone like Catherine could be great ;)
