hmmm yes and no

yes
dual core (better than single core)

no
its a dating CPU

its alot better than a single core CPU but its still not "the best" you can get its more of a lower mid range CPU. gives fantastic price for performance though

maybe a quick look at a chart

anyways why you ask??

I ask because its all I have right now. I dont mind playing games at a lower setting....just as long as I can play them.

As George said there are better CPU's out there but just about any dual core CPU is good enough for playing games. Your video card is what is really important when it comes to playing games.

What kind of video card do you have?

Thanks for the chart. I see my CPU is not top of the line. But, it will get the job done. Correct?

Yes it will get the job done. The good thing about that CPU is it is really cheap, so if you decide later on you want more performance you can upgrade when you are ready and not feel bad about setting it aside.

The current bang for the buck favorite video card right now is the 8800GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+106791921+1067932704&Configurator=&Subcategory=48&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc=). And they are in your price range. As you can see they are popular by the fact that they are currently out of stock at Newegg. Perhaps they have some at Tiger Direct. If not it would be worth the wait for them to get more in. ;) The ETA looks like it is in the next few days for most of them.

Yeah, as long as my CPU can handle games...im ok. Maybe later I will upgrade. I will pick up a 8800GT as soon as I can afford it. I first have to pick up a new OS. I will keep you guys up to date!
