Hello, im a new here and i have been reading around looking for information or advice, but im still having some issues:confused: my computer is old, its a dell i got back in 2000. im planning on getting myself a new computer during these holidays, since it seems that there might be some good deals and what not, but i dont know very much when it comes to technical components. im to afraid to try and build one myself lol. i wouldnt know where to start or anything. maybe im just too lazy hahah. but ive looked at a lot of sites and most seem pretty customizable. im looking to get a, hmm how can i describe this, uhh "upper-middle class" gaming computer. i want something i wont regret getting, but i can almost guarantee anything would be better than the one i have now. im having a hard time making a final decision with anything here. im not looking to spend a LOT of money, but i understand that they arent cheap. i would really like to have something that, say, over the next few years i could keep upgrading, but i also want something that is up-to-date. and as far as monitors go, ive read a lot of arguments over the lcd-crt thing, well ive decided to just go with an lcd, not sure what brand yet, but i definatly want an lcd.(unless im making a big mistake lol!) so pretty much im just clueless here in what to do, but really really anxious to get a new computer and have a good time with some games. so....any advice on where to begin? if i go to build my own, i would be to afraid to do it without some professional help. hmm ....

ok first of all how much do you have to spend? (upper midrane is about $1000-$1200)

this is a good site for parts http://www.newegg.com/

also 9/10 its cheaper to build your own and its not as hard as it sounds

LCD is great now and at 1900 x 1200 isnt a miss :D

what sort of games you looking to play?

with $2000 you could get a nice high end system :D

but if your only going to play WOW and CS-S you may as well get a sub $1000 PC

but if your looking at playing crysis on high then you want to be spends $2000,
-Quad core extreme
-SLI graphics cards
-4Gb of fast RAM even DDR3
