Can I burn 870 mb cd's (99 minutes)? My cd-writer is HP 9110i,I already made a firmware update (the latest available on HP site). I use Roxy WinOnCD 3.8 (what is this? I think CeQuadrat released WinOnCD 3.7...whatever). There is an option available: write custom cd's, but even with this option selected, the cd is detected as 702 mb cd. I wonder if this so-called WinOnCD is the real 3.8 version. I never heard of Roxy. Nero 5.0.. can solve this problem, or should I change my cd-writer?

Only special cd burners can burn 90 and 99 minute (800 and 900 mb respectively) cds and generally these cds cannot be read except by the drive that burned them...

I don't know what drives support this burn feature, but I would assume that the company would defintely advertise it...although this is not necessarily true (iomega zip 650s would burn 700mb cds) so unless it says so on the box, it probably can't burn them...

And where did you get the 870mb cds? You do realize you would need the special media as well as a drive that supports them to burn that much data, right?

Yeah, I feared you would say that...unfortunatelly, HP gives me no additional information refering to what kind of media should be used.
The cd's are made on a ship, somewhere between China and Europe, by some skiny chinese, I think. The lenght of an mpeg file forced me to by something like this (759 MB). There is only one way to solve this: Virtual Dub, and a mpeg1 to avi (DivX) conversion. I'll lost some quality, but...better safe than sorry. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif
