Ok, after I managed to download a "legal" movie through bittorrent, I saved it into a shortcut folder which was placed on my desktop. After the download finished, it seemed like the folder was corrupted somehom, stating it didn't exist.

Is there a way to fix the folder or to somehow retreive the file that was stored in it?

You probably need to find the folder that the shortcut points to. At the moment it doesnt appear to point to a folder at all judging by its generic icon. RClick the shortcut and look at properties to see where it is supposed to link to.

Well, it says that it's not a valid shortcut.

Before I started downloading, the shortcut pointed to a certain folder on another partition of my HDD - which I can't find anymore. It corrupted after the download with no sign of the original folder.

The thing is that the shortcut has the same size as the file I was downloading - so the downloaded file is still there somewhere. I was wondering if there was a way to recover it.
