What OS are you running? Is it supported by the software?

What OS are you running?
Good question and does it compare with the OS used on the other PC. There is only native support for bluetooth in WinXP SP2 and above. If below this does everything look hunky-dory in Device Manager despite having run "the bluetooth s/w".
what is a dongle?
Dongle is a very loose term that originally was used to indicate a small piece of hardware that would filter software but has come to mean a wide variety of port converters as well as USB wifi, bluetooth and even whole mobile phone devices that attach or 'dangle' from a port.

I only hope that i never use software that requers thatIt used to be and occasionally still is a way of protecting copyrighted software.
I have corrected the original disambiguation link which was missing the closing bracket also noting that there is much more about dongles in the main article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dongle).

thanks for replies. o/s is xp but not sp2.
Also once the Bluetooth on the phone is set to be visible
You may need to also tell it to send the signal ( force it )
Then tell the Phone to see and add the PC
Just like you would with a headset

SP-2 is where you find usb2 drivers for Windows XP. Try updating to that and things may 'appear'.
