Hi.
I have again run into the same problems as detailed here (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=55214&highlight=network+shares)
and also covered a little here (http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=52578&highlight=network+shares)
This time, they really won't go away.
I have exceedingly high blood-pressure tonight because of this.
Why does Windoze make it SO HARD to remove references to old network shares?
Sharing them is easy - deleting them is a NIGHTMARE.
I have tried everything as mentioned in these other threads, including using command-prompt to delete all the shares WHICH COMPLETES FINE, but when you re-boot, they automatically reappear.
This is making me SO MAD, I can't tell you...
In Linux, you tell the system with the share, not to share it anymore, and POW! - it's not available anymore, yet with Winedoze, the bloody shares won't UNSHARE.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................
Methods tried:
- Right-click share in Windows Explorer, and unshare from there.
- Using CMD, and NET SHARE X:\ /delete, where "X" is the drive I want to unshare.
- Left-click the share under Windows Explorer, then right-click and choose DELETE.
Anyone got anything they can suggest AGAIN.
