I recently upgraded to MS Office Professional from Office 2003. I was SO excited, but now I am just frustrated!

Also, my PowerPoint and Word will not open any previous version. The error message says that my anti-virus program won't allow me to open it. That isnt true. I'll shut off my anti-virus program and it still won't allow me to. I have created a file in in PowerPoint and then it won't let me open that file.

Should I tried uninstalling and re-install? I have tried "repairing" the programs, but that didn't do anything. I do NOT have the time to try and figure this out. When you spend over $200 for a program, it should work. At least that's my feeling.

Anyone else have any ideas for my new software? Oh, you can't email me ... because I can't get it. (Actually, I can read my email on its webmail, but I can't on my home pc.)

Thanks!

Which OS are you running - you do need XPSP2 or above.

What specific eMail problems are you encountering and could it be due to the dropping of Exchange server?

The emails show that they are being received, but do NOT go to my inbox. I don't know where they go.

I uninstalled last night and reinstalled and nothing changed. Only thing was that I had to install of the updates again!! What a pain.

The other thing, when I try to use Word or Excel, I can't open them because of "compatibility error with my anti-virus" program. That's very irritating!

Sorry about that ... I have XP with SP2.

Anti-Virus is AVG

Possibly swap AVG for Avast and see if that resolves things?

I did uninstall my AVG and I am able to use the programs. Thanks for the tips.

HOWEVER, I still cannot find the email that "supposedly" is being received. Just tonight, I "received" 8 emails. They show the progress, but they do NOT come to my inbox. There are RSS feeds that have come in since I installed the software, but not recently.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!
