I know this may sound dumb but does anyone have suggestions on low cost on upgrading Video card, cpu, harddrive, and PS on a Dell Dimension 4700 and before it is said i know lousy pc but my brother bought it for me for christmas 2 yrs ago this summer i upgraded to a gig of ram

At that point you might as well throw in a new motherboard, ram, and case and build a new system altogether. :p

What do you mean by "low cost"? What is your budget?

By default, a new PSU for a Dell Dimension is not going to be "low cost" - at least not for a decent Wattage. You might to be able to do all those upgrades you mentioned for as little as $350, but that's about as low as I can generally say and still promise a noticeable upgrade.

Generally speaking, when people ask me about upgrading an OEM, I say "Why bother??" :D

ok i am for the most part a noob i have had a few classes in troubleshooting, upgrade and repair but not familiar with actually building a pc so what exactly is OEM i have seen the name before not sure the meaning and right now my budget is almost non existent just want to find out if the cost would warrent getting my hands on a new pc or just upgrading my current one
