hi I am working on an old hp 166 hrz 48 mb ram, Its running 95 os and I'm getting the blue screen. when i got it, it did not work. in the prosses of fixing it i found that a pin was broken off the moniter cord and that one off the three HD's installed was shot{guess it has been around for awhile)but it was still running so i figgerd wich HD was bad tore it out. all was good on the next boot way faster. untill at shutdown time it said, we have found update that is ready for your computer please wait while windows updates your computer. so i waited. for like 3 hours. so being impatient I hit the power button. I was not online. now i get blue screen INVALID VxD LINK CALL FROM NWREDIR(04) + 00000D0 TO DIVICE "O487", SYSTEM 6 YOUR WINDOWS CONFIGUREATION IS INVALID. ect. hit y or n still install? hit y
screen comes up and same thing except now it says NWREDIR(07) + OOOO0COB TO DEVICE "0478", SERVIC1 hit y
NWREDIR(7) + 00000BE6 TO DEVICE "0487",system 1 hit y
00000CF7 hit Y
00000C42 hit Y
this time i see desktop then back to blue 00000BA5 hit y
00000CA7 hit y i get one sqare in the middle for the screen and it freezes up
It will start in safemode but the options at boot select have changed. there is no option that says safemode with networking or comand promp with networking. i do not know hot to change or even find where to change the driver. i have a coppy of win95 on floppy but disk 10 will not read (12 years old)and to or three are missing #s 20, 23, and 24 (Must have been the kids!) so i gues what im asking is, can you help me find what driver got changed and maybe how to change it back?
