Hi,
I went into a computer shop and bought a Belkin Router in Hong Kong recently and thought it was the solution to going wireless, perhaps it was a communication problem or he just gave me the wrong thing.
Anyway, it looks like it's of no use to me so what I would like to ask is what do I need to go wireless?
I have an ADSL modem provided by AOL feeding my laptop; it all sounds so easy but I just need to know what I need to buy to go wireless.
If I wanted to print remotely, can this be done wireless too?
Suggestions for uses for the Router (Belkin Wireless G Router 802.11g)?

Thank you

What exactly do you mean by wireless?

That router, connected to your modem, should, if your laptop includes a wireless card, be all you need.

Now, for the printing...if your printer is capable of hooking up to a network, then it can be hooked up to the router (wired) and your laptop can print to it.

Configuring everything is the key to successful wireless networking. Your modem needs to be connected to the WAN port on the router, encryption and settings need to be done on the router and maybe settings changed on the modem. Since you have a Linksys, give their tech support a call, they are very good at walking you through the setup for the router...

mjc,
It is a Belkin, not a Linksys.

Ooops...in that case...gotta boat?

Belkin's tech support is...ummm...well, not as good as Linksys's.

Seeing Linksys everywhere I look today...better check my glasses.
