I just built a PC with a 512 mb Graphics card. Even this size, i've noticed still has trouble with some games, such as call of duty 4. If I buy a second 256 mb card, will that be like having a 768mb? I'm not sure if they would operate like that.

Any info would help. Thanks.

What CARD?
What Motherboard?

No they don't operate like that, the cards must have the same GPU and memory amount, and even then you will only have half the total of the two cards added together because the same data will be in the memory on both cards. The cards can be from diferent manufacturers but other then that they must be identical.
If differing memory ammounts was allowed a 265MB card + a 512MB card would = the value of the card with the least ammount of memory 256MB.
The same goes if you install a card that is factory overclocked and one that is not, the OCed card will run at the same speed of the slower card.

Even this size, i've noticed still has trouble with some games, such as call of duty 4.The amount of RAM on a vid card has very little to do with its ultimate performance. The GPU on the vid card is what's slowing down your games. If that sucks, your gaming performance will suck. There's no reason that a 512MB vid card is slowing down your games based on the RAM capacity itself. That's plenty of RAM for even the latest and most demanding games.
