View Full Version : RGB-plugged monitor, fixed frequency?

I just got a thrown-away monitor.
I plugged it on my computer, but it didn't work.
(it showed just scramble from the very beginning)

The monitor has RGB plugs (out & in) but no sync-plugs.

The VGA-BNC cable has only 3 BNCs and the VGA-plug has pins only for red green and blue & their returns.

The monitor is a TekXpress, by Tektronix.

Now, any info would be appreciated: is it a fixed frequency or a "green-frequency" monitor?
Where can I learn the frequency of it?
Can you tell me anything?

Can I change some settings on my vid-card(voodoo3, 16MB, AGP)(I have a working monitor)?

I'd really like it to work, its huge!

Search Google for Tektronix and the model number, which should be on the nameplate on the back.

I might be stupid, but not that stupid http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Tektronix has ended the TekXpress- line & removed all info about it from their website.
I've searched the web for an entire day now (must quit before my boss finds out...), with wery bad (if any) results.
So my only hope is that someone here has any info about them.
Even our computing centre, that threw away them know nothing about them (!)

So still, please, after altavista, yahoo & google failed; is there anyone out there...

That does not seem to be an appropriate remark after TJ's help. I went to Google (http://www.google.com), and in under 5 minutes found a TekXpress model number which led me to MonitorWorld (http://www.monitorworld.com). You might try their link to Tektronics as a start, or just wait for another Tek owner to show up. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Wishing you success!
