I have installed an Alcatel Speed Touch PC PCI card in a computer I am experimenting with. I have loaded the drivers and connected the card to my BT broadband line. The Card displays two green lights and when I check the status it is shown as connected.
However when I try to acces the internet using my BT USER ID & PASSWORD all I get is "Verifying Password.........". Then after a short while ERROR 721 is output. I think I have something wrong in the settings but not sure what to check.
Any help would be appreciated........

Have you checked that filters are installed on all phones?
Usually error 721 means a fault at the ISP, but a compete check of all the wiring is a good idea. Have you tried rebooting? Do you get the same error using the original modem?

Are you using PPPoE or PPPoA?

To David
When I use the same cable but connect via a USB modem with my original BT settings the connection is fine. The connection for both methods uses the same filter and no other phone sockets are changed.
I feel that the problem is not with the way it is connected.

To Variable,
I will check this as I have seen PPP Protocol when viewing the PVC TABLE . I believe it is 2364(PPP0A). I do not undestand what this means however. Which should it be (PPP0A or PPP0E) and how do I change it if it is wrong?

I have sorted out the problem I had. My BtBroadband connnection was set to "dial" 0, when in fact it should have been 0,38. Iwas leaving both options, but when I changed 0 to 0,38 connection was ok.
Thanks for all the help.
