Opera VS. Firefox?
Hmm firefox is faster, but it doesn't beat Opera's convenience...
what do you think?

Personal preference, both are good browsers.

From my experience, Firefox is a bit faster, but Opera has the "magical wand" that I found was extremely powerful. But Firefox also takes up a lot of ram, but it doesn't really matter since I haver 2 Gigs of Ram. But Opera looks prettier. =]

Well Firefox is easier for those who like to customize, you can add security extensions like Show IP, and No Scripts for web security.

but Opera says they have better security, but I guess that's because not many people target Opera?

Firefox with NoScripts is plenty secure for most users.
Anyone who claims their browser is totally safe is likely exaggerating.

I use Firefox primarily, but that does not mean Opera is worse, just a personal preference that I use the Firefox.

I prefer Firefox to Opera anyday.
One reason is on older computers (not too old, were talking computers Firefox runs just fine on) Opera's glammy skin, whatever it's called causes Opera to be unstable.
Firefox has been my home browser for many years, and before that AOL.
Right now, however i'm browsing with Netscape Browser.
I prefer it to Firefox, though its kinda like Firefox, which gives it that feel.
The only thing that people discredit about Netscape is Weatherbug, which has actually come to some use within the past few days, so i have no problem with it.
Firefox has waaaay more plugins and support than Opera, and a much much much larger user base.
If i were you, id choose Firefox/Netscape, but its all up to you.
Like they said, alot of the things ive said above are infact just personal preference.

Previously discussed here (http://pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=60424).
My thoughts:
I used to be a big Opera fan (back before Firefox). Now, not so much. Functionality and security operate at an inverse relationship to each other. I now find Firefox to be plenty secure and more functional than Opera.

Think Firefox, opera and IE 7, do have their own advantages disadvantages, as there are some website that are well displayed in opera and IE, and not in firefox. Use all the three for testing purpose.

I like firefox because it was easier to used at the same time it has so many features compared to other browser.
I like Opera a bit more then Firefox, although a lot of websites don't work with Opera. It's especially annoying in Linux because there is no Java programs for Opera meaning you can't use it for youtube, or other video playing sites.

Firefox...

yeah that's true. these browsers all have advantages/disadvantages.
The only reason I currently like Opera a bit more than firefox is because the Opera's "navigation shortcut keys" are nto in firefox. What I mean by that is that Firefox is more of an inconvinient browser than Opera when navigating on websites. All I have to do on Opera to go "back" is press "z", but in firefox, I either have to press the actual "back button" or use a mouse gesture only with an extention. It also does not have the "magical wand" that Opera has, and this makes firefox a much more of an inconvinient browser for me.
Any extentions in firefox that makes the Shortcut keys I described available?

Apple's-Safari 3 is a new one that may need to be checked out??
I use FireFox (extentions-secured), IE if needed.

i've used both firefox and opera, and i honestly prefer firefox. opera is very good, but firefox just felt better to me and i love the customization you can do with firefox
There aren't short-cuts like there are in Opera though. I also don't like the alt+ left arrow to go backwards.
How does Apple's Safari fit into this? It's not able to be used by Windows with ease, right?

I use Opera most of the time. I love its tabs, speed dail and "links" panel. I use Firefox when I need to use extensions Opera doesn't have or can't use.
So I guess you can mark me an Opera user :)

I find that rather than Firefox its Mozilla cousin Sea Monkey has a number of distinct features; particularly its composer element for producing nice clean HTML code. It also has an integrated mail and newsgroups window and tabbed browsing.
