Hey guys,
This took me 2 hours to do, and im really satisfied with the results
i got bored so i took my guitar

Above is my Guitar
i took off the Pickguard (the pickguard is the white plate on the body of the guitar for those who dont know)
Feeling creative i took the pickguard and started away with my sharpies
i only had a Red and Black sharpie and im pretty satisfied with what i made
heres my pickguard after about an hour and a half of working

and heres the end result

Pretty trippy. Really makes it unique. Why sand off the Strat name? How about some flames up the neck?

Yeah leave the logo alone, the only one I've removed is one on a Tom Anderson counterfiet telecaster I picked up a couple of years ago. Not only was it a rip off of an expensive guitar, a really bad attempt at their logo too, cheap tuners, bridge pickup was microphonic, everything about it just cheap. But it plays and sounds good, $80 isn't bad either and the bridge pickup is one of the best sounding ones I have so it was worth the price...(I potted the pickup to stop the uncontrollable microphonic feedback at stage volumes, works perfect now.) Might post a shot of it, but maybe in a later post, this one's enough for now.
My Squier Strat is the one in my avatar, I bought that pickguard though, just thought it was too cool to pass up. The original one was plain white. Not sure if I have a bigger shot of it I could easily post, but here's one of my $2 yard sale Harmony Bobkat in use for some slide, it's made in 1966

I use it onstage now and then, mainly for slide. The strat is my main guitar, next is a Cort CL 1500, several others too but those two are the ones that get the most abuse onstage.
Interesting pickguard, but why didn't you spring for $2 for some red Krylon then go at it with the black Sharpie? Just curious, the paint would make a much better background to work with. And easier to apply...

Probably because he lives in an area where it takes an act of Congress for anyone under the age of thirty to buy a can of spray paint?

Okay, i think i'll leave the logo alone then =]
How about some flames up the neck?
How would you do that? same way i did the pickguard?

Nah its totally legal for me to run out and get some sharpies,
But, take in mind when i did this was late, and had no way to get to CVS or Krogers to pick up some sharpies
I'm sure soon though that ill get them, and keep going away at the pickguard.
My friend and I are going to dis-assemble my guitar and color the body itself soon, maybe an orange or something fun.

Sufferwell- you have DUST in the lens- Rip a small piece of paper and roll it up and use that to clean the lens- you will notice a difference!

Sadly, though. I fear i shouldnt have colored the fretboard, the sharpie is rubbing off when i play it, is there anyway i can make it stay on there and be permanent?

"that camera is crazy hard to focus"
The blur might be caused by...
Low ambient light level->camera auto sets slow shutter speed to compensate->hand/camera shake/movement causes blur.
SYMPTOM
I notice more than a single image of the light reflecting off the end of the frets.
With flash, even if the camera is moving the image is made by that single burst of light being reflected back to the camera and through the open shutter.
Even thought the shutter is open for a much longer time than the duration of the burst, it's the short burst that makes the image.
Hence no blur.
The open shutter lets in ambient light additional to the flash, and that would tend to create blur images, but because the flash is so relatively powerful/intense those hardly register as images/smears.
