Hi people,

Ok so I have a router with 2 wireless conenctions that connect flawlessly.

Have also got a third computer with wireless network card.

Thing is, with this computer, the computer can FIND the network I want to connect to, it never actually "connects".

have entered WEP key multiple times to see if it was an invalid wepkey but no light.

both the network card and the router are netgear.

Before formatting this computer after hardware problems (turns out graphics card went), it worked flawlessly too. Only since formatting has it gone to pot.

Can anyone shed some light on this situation for me please!!

Thanks on advance

Best way to troubleshoot wireless problems is to verify you can connect. Turn off the wireless security and see if you can connect to the naked wireless router.

Yes, yes, it's a minor security risk to do that, but on the same token, you could disconnect the rest of the network from the router while you are playing.

Anyhow, the Smartwizard automatic script is broken and it won't save the larger WEP keys correctly, so if you are using other than 64bit keys, you should build the profile manually. It also has an annoying tendency to lose profiles. http://xs109.xs.to/xs109/06476/argh.gif

You might try inputing the configurations manually. IP address, DNS numbers, WEP keys. I had one machine that refused to get a connection automatically so I just set it manual and all was well.
