I have been having trouble getting my screensaver to start for a while now. No matter what I do, I can't get it to start.

Here is a picture of the tasks I have running:

LEFT CLICK DESKTOP>PROPERTIES FROM MENU>SCREEN SAVER TAB>

what does this tab look like?, what are the advanced options?
etc
(there should also be something called power savings or energy star or something- what are its options?)
Which are on? Off?
is a screen saver even selected?

go to the screen settings page. what happens when you click preview? be sure not to move the mouse. the smallest movement will stop the preview.

the next entry on the list of possible cuases that i know of offhand.
i usually start with the simplest and go down to the more complex...

when is it supposed to go on?
there should be a small "box" (menu) for "minutes to wait until Screen saver" (or something)

how long is it set to? 5 min? 10 min? longer? shorter? in between?

Before answering the post before mine, what actually happens after 5 minutes of no activity? Also, would windows media player happen to be playing while you are away?
