how can i tell what kind of motherbord i have? and also what kind of processors it can handle?

This Google (http://www.google.ie/search?hl=en&q=identify+motherboard&btnG=Search&meta=) should help you out. Or give us a few details (make/model of PC or BIOS string of motherboard). Or you could even try Everest (http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml).
