View Full Version : re: installing hard drive
I have brought a Seagate hard disk. I have installed it as primary slave.
I am using seaates DiscWizard and the DiskWizard identifies the drive and shows it appropriately with drive D. It then goes through process of installing the disk and disk fragmentation etc...
When it gets to disk fragmentation it keeps crashing and my Norton's crashGuard intercepts and gives me an error message with dw2000.exe problem please help?

Unless I misunderstand your post, it sounds like you're trying to install the drive from Windows using Disk Wizard. The last time I used that program, it was designed to run from DOS, not Windows. So you need to boot to a start up disk, and at the A:\> prompt type the command line that starts Disk Wizard. Then it should run corectly. It's crashing because it can't have any TSR's running in the background, and in Windows you almost always have something running, plus it's intended to be run from DOS.
If this is not correct, give us a better description of the situatuion, step by step how you are trying to run Disk Wizard.

Turn off, disable or uninstall Norton CrashGuard. It causes more problems than it cures.
