Is there any kind of free software or shareware that I can download to convert an IFO file to WMV or mpeg or some other file type compatible with Windows Movie Maker? HELP!!!!!

I renamed the VOB file to mpg file.......I guess this will be compatible with windows movie maker.......

The IFO and VOB files are from a DVD that I want to put on youtube......i cannot do this without converting these file types IFO and VOB to something compatible with windows movie maker.......

any suggestions.

Try the FREEWARE jetAudio 7.0.5 Basic (http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/).
I have v7.0.3 [haven't used it to do anything yet, so don't know how good it is], and it includes "Video Format Converter to AVI" [see screenshot below].

You need dvd ripper.
I know Handbrake is free dvd ripper. But it can only convert dvd to iPod format files.
You can use iSkysoft DVD Ripper. It is shareware. It is easy to use. It can help you to rip dvd to Windows Movie Maker .
