Windows Update site

Just curious but I notice that the Windows update site has additional downloads for hardware drivers that WU feels you need. I have done that once but ended up having to roll it back as it created more problems that the original but I notice that it keeps telling me I need to download a driver for my HP w19b monitor but I used the cd provided driver which auto-matically took me to the hp site for an upgrade driver. Seems to work ok but just curious as I said why the WU site seems to feel I should upgrade again. Your thoughts please.

I too would be very cautious with such hardware updates if your hardware is working fine. They have screwed my own system up before now and so I now never download them - without at least imaging the sytem drive first. AFAIK they are suggestions - no more - and are optional.

Don't do driver updates from WU...if anything they are older than the hills.
