windows wont boot

I can get into windows through safe-mode... but when I start normally it gets to the loading screen then wont go into the login screen...

It stopped working when the computer crashed really bad... Sound started screeching, screen froze and caused me to hard reboot....

what could the problem be?

It was the sound card... I removed it and deleted the drivers and all is good now

except the kernel.dll error, every program i start gets this error

What is the complete error message for kernel.dll error ?
What OS are you using (XP home/Pro) ?

When i try to run speedfan, yahoo widgets, skype (programs that automatically start) I get the kernel32.dll error

its all fixed now.. i dl'ed a new kernel32.dll and put it in my windows/system folder

but I have have static coming thought my onboard sounds =(
