I believe it was a post left today using what apparently is an across the pond idiom. From the context it appears to be talking about money...

Would any of our UK folks mind having a go at this one and explain from whence it hails??

Wedge- Colloquial English for money. A folded stack of bills has a wedge-like shape, not to metion money can be a wedge between people.

Similar to a "wad" of bills in North America.
