Running XP on an Intel P4 D865PERL. Couldn't figure out why the machine wouldn't turn on until this am when I unplugged my Wacom USB tablet and the machine turned on just fine. The tablet works fine when plugged in after startup. It is plugged in to the stationary USB port which is permanently attached where the keyboard and mouse ports are.

Interesting enough, I moved it into the other room to troubleshoot last night. Checked cables and then it seemed to boot fine. Moved it into the computer room, it booted (cold and restart) 5 times without a problem. Left it set overnight and in the am it wouldn't turn on. The power light would come on, the HD light would flash once along with the CD light and that was it.

My first motherboard got hit by static and died. Intel replaced it with this board. Both boards did almost the same thing, however, the first board would work if I unplugged the power and plugged it up again. It did this for a month and then suddenly started working ok.

How do I resolve this?

Try plugging the Wacom into a motherboard USB location...or a powered hub.
