Occasionally I have received a strange message during start-up which reads:"An exception OE has occurred at 0028:76A91BF4 in VXD---.This was called from 0028:C14AB813 IN VXD DRVWQ117(01)+0000E483.It may be possible to continue normally."I really do not know its meaning.Does it have any adverse effect on my PC?Advice is needed here and thank you for your reply.

http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif VXD usually pertains to driver files. Do you have an add-on plug and play of any sort that MS has furnished the drivers for out of the MS driver data base? Could be causing an IRQ conflict. All your Bells and whistles work OK? You might go to My Computer -- Control Panel -- System -- Devices. Stroll thru Devices and see if you have any yellow caution emblems showing anywhere. On any thing. Reply back when you get a chance. And you 'prolly have a Registry entry problem. Read your previous post dated 7/7. Looks like you had a Registry problem then.

Eric,

After reading your other post, I see that this is a brand new machine and obviously still under warranty. I recommend you take it back to where you bought it and let them fix it.
You do not want to do anything to this machine that will void your warranty.

Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

Amen on the RMA. Something tells me there may have been a periphial device unplugged and then plugged back in while the machine was hummin'. Other than a USB device. Good Luck. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
