"My Computer" right click on properties not working

I was successful in upgrading from WIN2000 to XP Pro, but I now have two issues. The first is that when I "right click" the "My Computer" icon and select "properties", nothing happens. I've done some searching on the web and haven't found anything that worked. After I upgraded I installed NIS 2007, but I'm not sure why that would cause the problem. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

If this is only happening in WindowsExplorer/My Computer and the Desktop then it could just need a registry tweak.
