I have a Microsoft Zune & was wondering if it was possible to rip DVD's to a format the Zune can read, without having to buy/download the DVD's through the internet. It makes no sense for me to purchase DVD's I've already paid for to put on my Zune

The Zune will read WMV format. there are a number of progs out there designed to convert to the Zune format as well, but again there is a cost involved. DVDShrink does convert to WMV. As you can see from the other thread, I am trying to figure it out at the moment ;)
I found a really good program that converts something to what ever you want (with in reason.) you can download it here, http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/super.cfm

Super is a great program. There is a bit of learning curve as the IU isn't exactly user friendly, but you can't beat what it can do for the price. Heck you can hardly beat what it can for a lot of money.
yeah, the only problem I found is the actual site where you are supposed to get it from is really confusing.

Yes it is confusing. It can be very hard just to find the actual download. It is there, I promise! :p
And you can't give a direct download link for some reason. :(

Handbrake is free.
Have a try.
