I have 3 computers hooked up threw a hub with dsl. I want to have have 1 computer hooked up as some sort of storage device but have it accessible for my other two computers to put and pull information off of. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? I know on macintoshes theres programs where you can mount a hard drive from another computer to yours and add the files like that..

I want to set 1 of my computers up as a storage device thats accessible to other computers on my dsl connect. Is there a way to mount the "storage devices'" hard drive virtually or something.. to all the computers online so I can pull and dump files without having to use aim and other programs to send files.. I used to work for a magazine with macintosh's and you could do it with macs. little help in the right direction would b great. thanks.

You want to use one computer as a server or file sharing location

It is Just that easy
enable file sharing within your work group on the One computer and limit / restrict it to the files and folders you want to allow them access to

OR if you are willing to spend a few extra $$
A NAS ( network attached Storage ) device will allow you to do the same thing with ease and allow you to share with the MAC as well as include a printer server

Costing anywhere from $50 to Thousands

I happen to prefer Buffalo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150124+50001646&name=Buffalo+Technology

It also allows you to keep a NAS running and Not a full system for access by others
Saving a Bit of $$ on the electric bill

Since you are using DSL, a hub and file and file and printer sharing - what protection/security are you using to protect your files.

On-line backup (http://www.files-upload.com/) is suitable for some and can be password protected.
