Hi,

I have just bought a new webcam that comes with a headset with mic and I'm having problems with making video calls via Windows Live Messenger. I can view the people I'm trying to call but I can't hear them nor can they hear me. So I thought it has something to do with the mic on my headset. So under ' Tools ' in Windows Live Messenger, I went through ' Audio and Video Setup ' and everything was fine. I even made a recording of a voice clip using my headset, just in case the mic of my headset is faulty. But the playback of that clip is fine. So I got no idea what's " blocking " me ? So can anyone help me resolve this ? Any help is appreciated.

Have you looked under "sound properties" to see if the Mic is muted or even activated?

Which OS and version?

Vista seems to have a number of problems with sound in the Video Link part of messenger and possibly fixable by changing the version or the audio drivers (or ;) the OS of course).

You should get the idea from Windows Live Messenger 8.1 pushed to Vista users (http://www.fanatic.net.nz/2006/12/16/windows-live-messenger-81-pushed-to-vista-users/).
