Question:
According to information on the PCGuide site, a CD-ROM needs a driver to work in Windows 98. However, if you look at the properties of your CD-ROM drive in the Device Manager, you will see that it says: "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device."
Is there a hidden driver file? Does it work with no driver?

The drivers for your CD player are actually included in the makeup of windows OS, hence no need for external " command " software. For a really good reference on CD's and the function in the system i sugest you read the PC guides database here (http://www.pcguide.com/ref/cd/index.htm) where he gives a very detailed explanantion. Hope that helps you a little. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
