This is quite good I thought.
Especially the "Fear not the command line"
The Linux command-line is very powerful - and scary at first.
I still am only a novice, however...

Puppy Linux is my favourite at the moment, as many people are coming to me looking for alternatives to Microsoft Windows.
Most of these people have heard of Linux, but are scared off(quite rightly) by the size of the distros, and huge number of packages installed with it.
Puppy is small, runs like a V8 on older hardware, and is PERFECT for just e-mail and browsing the net, which is what most people seem to want. Puppy can also use Open Office, so it is great for the medium PC user too.
True, it's a small distro, but it is basic, and easy to work with, plus it is very fast.
:)
