I received this pc last week and and the HDD was bad so I ordered another HDD and just tried it, it passed the onboard Diagnostics and started loading XP but after "Copying files", it went to "Setup is starting windows" and then the BSOD appears with the error message:

stop: Ox0000007B [OxF78E663C, OxCOOOOO34, OxOOOOOOOO, OxOOOOOOOO]

I am posting this message on the net but can't come up with anything, help?

Just received some help from the Del forum, this was the answer, problem solved

Check your Setup (F2) and see if your SATA Operation is set to RAID ON. If so, when you install XP, you need to press F6 and load the SATA RAID drivers from a floppy before it starts copying files. You can get the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers from the Dell Drivers/Download page for your system.

If you're not using RAID, you can set your SATA Operation to SATA Autodetect/ATA and you won't have to load the RAID drivers. Be aware that if you decide to enable RAID in the future, you will have to reinstall XP and load the SATA RAID drivers during setup.

Hi mikehende,

You said:
"Be aware that if you decide to enable RAID in the future, you will have to reinstall XP and load the SATA RAID drivers during setup."

If I am not incorrect, if you wanted RAID in the furure, just install the correct RAID drivers in a running XP OS, reboot and enter BIOS setup (F2), and then change the SATA Operation to set to RAID ON, and reboot into XP.
