Asus P5B motherboard, E6750, 2x 1GB DDR2-667Mhz, 8800GT.

First time I booted it, got "overclocking error" with options to F1, go to BIOS setup or F2, run with default settings. I can run OS and stuff by choosing to run default settings (F2), but when I restart, system wont boot at all, no POST, no beeps, no video. Resetting CMOS or switching memory to different slots makes it POST again but always get the same error.
If I go to BIOS setup after error (F1), keep default settings and exit, it restarts and nothing happens again.
So I have to move memory slots or clear CMOS and F2 every time i start or restart the system.

I updated BIOS to latest version with ASUS Update -program, which apparently isn't recommended, but it didnt seem to change anything.

CPU-Z shows core speed switching between 1.6 and 2.2Ghz instead of 2.66 that it should be (i think), and DRAM frequency 266Mhz.

All parts are brand new and had the problem since first boot so I doubt anything is physically broken.

Motherboard isn't native 1333 FSB but is supposed to support it. I don't understand much, but could it be related to that? Also, PSU is probably too weak, would that cause such problems? What to do? Buying new motherboard is not an option.

Weak power supplies can cause all sorts of unexplainable headaches...

To minimize the draw on the power supply and try to iron out the BIOS issues, just connect the keyboard and video card...no drives, any other add in cards, etc. Also, replace the CMOS battery. Yes, it is new, but how long was it sitting while being shipped/warehoused/store stock?

Disconnecting drives and stuff didn't help, and don't think its the battery since time/date doesn't reset.

New PSU didn't solve anything either.

I would suggest giving ASUS tech-support a call. They might be aware of a problem with the board, or can advise you if it needs to be RMAd...
