what is the main different from the core 2 duo processor and pentium dual core?beside its fsb and and its frequency?

They are built using a different nanometre process, I think most of the core2duo's are about 65nm whereas my dual core 8 series is 130nm. The advantages of the former is the heat and hence better FSB and less power consumption. My computer sounds like a helicopter trying to keep the heat down.

UkGamer; I think you have the Pentium Duel-Core confused with the Pentium D Netburst microarchitecture processors.

The Pentium Duel-Core processors are 65nm fab process and based on the Core 2 microarchitecture.

Pentium Duel-Core E2000 series (http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ProcFam=2841&sSpec=&OrdCode=) and Core 2 Duo E4000 series (http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ProcFam=2558&sSpec=&OrdCode=) both have an Allendale core and the main difference is the L2 cache size.

Pentium Duel-Core E2200 and the Core 2 Duo E4500 are the same processor except the E2200 has a 1MB L2 cache and the E4500 has 2MB L2 Cache both have a 800MHz FSB and a frequency of 2.2GHz

The Core 2 Duo E6000 and X6000 (Extreme Edition) processors with a Conroe core have a 1066 or 1333MHz FSB and 2 or 4MB L2 cache.

Then there are the new Core 2 Duo E8000 series (http://processorfinder.intel.com/List.aspx?ProcFam=2558&sSpec=&OrdCode=) 45nm processors with 1333MHz FSB and 6MB L2 cache

The Pentium Duel-Core E2000 series and Core 2 Duo E4000 series are more or less the "Celerons" of the Core 2 Duo line of processors.
