Unless i'm mistaken this is referring to your normal.dot file, which is the default template word opens to create your document ( times new roman font at 10, etc ), are you trying to save your current document as a template perhaps?
You can customize the normal.dot template so that word opens with the font you choose; if you change it or delete it, next time you open word it will just create a new one in the default MS settings ( times new roman/size 10 ).

Make sure when you've created a document, that you save it as a doc, and not a template ( unless you really want it to be one ) and don't worry if you accidentally delete the normal template; word will just create a new one when you start it back up.

i personally created several templates for different occasions, i saved them as andy.dot, lucinda.dot, etc.. you get the idea.

try clicking on reply, instead of Reply with quote, reply with quote is only needed for emphasis to a particular piont that you want to make.

(I did this too when I first got here)
